1. Data Controller & Proximity
Blizu App is operated in Maribor, Slovenia. We act as the Data Controller for your personal data. We prioritize data minimization, meaning we only process information strictly required to run our hyper-local neighborly coordination service.
2. Data We Process & Purpose
To connect you with your neighborhood, we process: (a) Profile info (username, email, rating, level) to build community trust; (b) Neighborhood names (derived from your approximate map markers) to group local aid; (c) Volunteer tasks and direct chat coordination messages to fulfill local requests.
3. Location Data & Mapping
Blizu does NOT track your live, precise real-time coordinates. Pin markers for offers and requests are placed at static, user-chosen locations. When using browser geolocation services to populate requests or search targets, we ask for your permission explicitly in the browser before retrieving coordinates. This location data is processed based on your explicit consent when submitting a pin.
4. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights: (a) Right of Access to your profile data and chats; (b) Right to Rectify incorrect information; (c) Right to Erasure (the 'Right to be Forgotten') by deleting your account; (d) Right to Data Portability. 5. Data Retention & Erasure
Account profiles, ratings, and volunteer histories are retained as long as your account remains active. Completed coordinate requests and messages are automatically archived or anonymized after a maximum of 6 months to maintain privacy.
6. Supervision & Complaints
If you believe our processing violates your privacy rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovenian Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec), Dunajska cesta 22, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
